I feel very fortunate to have shared this journey with a midwife like Sonja. She provided as much information as we needed with a great balance between being mindful of the choices my partner and I made and suggesting options we hadn’t considered. The resources made available to us were really useful and I felt they were given without judgement of whatever our choices ended up being. Sonja is open to different ideologies and she’s got a terrific sense of humour that I found really grounding.

I am so grateful for the respect she has shown our family. The attention and love she gave my three year old really enabled him to trust us, her and the process of birthing at home. Her ongoing care was great, I felt really confident with her knowledge and able to trust in her advice. She encouraged me to believe in myself.

My beautiful baby boy was born peacefully into the water at home. I had no interventions, just loving support from my caregivers. I felt like a goddess.

Being at home, trusting my body and the wisdom of intuitive knowledge, catching my own baby and so much more...it is such a gift.
